Conditions of Entry
Organisers
The Battle of the Bands is presented by the Caloundra Music Fesitval.
It will be held every Wednesday night in September (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th September) at the Kings Beach Tavern.
Closing Date for Entries
Entries must be received by 4.00pm on the 24th August 2009.
Selection Process
- An online selection process will be used to choose bands.
- All decisions by judging panel are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Bands will be subjected to three rounds of voting, online, heats and final.
- Bands will be judged online by popular vote.
- Top 16 Bands will go through to the heats at Kings Beach Tavern.
- 4 heats and one final decided by popular vote.
- The organizers reserve the right to veto inappropriate bands from the competition.

Entry Forms
All bands and their members must complete and sign all sections of the entry forms: both online and the downloadable file.
All competing bands must certify that they have read and agree to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Caloundra Music Festival “Battle of the Bands”, which are included in the application.
Please Note:
- No member can perform in more than one band in the competition
- Main contact person as indicated on page is the person who certifies that the details on the forms are complete and correct
Rules and Regulations for the Final
- Members of competing bands can be of all ages.
- PA supplied. Bands must provide their own instruments.
- Performance times will be allocated by the organiser. Bands must be able to play on Wednesday night. The nominated contacts will be advised of each band’s drawn playing time. Bands must report to the organizers for briefing at 6pm at Kings Beach Tavern.
- Each band will be allocated 30 minutes playing time. 15 minutes will be allocated per band for setup and pack down.
- No backing tracks.
- Band members are not to communicate directly with event judges, and any problem with sound or lighting should be directed to the stage manager, not the sound or lighting technicians.
- No stage diving, pyrotechnics, or any behavior that may endanger the audience or event participants. Abuse of supplied sound equipment or tavern property will disqualify the competing offender(s), who will also be held financially responsible for any damage caused.
- No illegal substances will be allowed in the venue or backstage. No cigarettes on or back-stage.
- Only band members will be allowed on the stage and back-stage. Bands will be responsible for their own equipment and event organisers and Kings Beach Tavern will not accept liability for the damage or loss of instruments during the event. All Band items/instruments and equipment cases should be labeled and identified with band name.
- If any Band takes equipment that does not belong to them away from the venue they have to return it immediately to the organizer (or agreed alternative) regardless of time or day.
- One vote per person.
- Decisions of the adjudicator are final, and no discussion will be entered into.
Failure to comply with competition rules may lead to disqualification from the event.
